Wes passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Ottawa General Hospital, Sunday, June 9, 2019. Survived by Penny, his wife of 50 years. Loved Father of Dean (Julia), Philadelphia; and Jason (Heather), Ottawa.  Proud and loving Bubba to his four beautiful granddaughters, Vivi, Lila, Paige and Ashley, who were the light in his world.   Survived by loving sisters Patricia Agnew (Tim), Kinmount and Jean Arsenault (Eric), Ottawa.  Predeceased by his parents Alton and Anna Mary Anderson, Pembroke, ON and his siblings Ret. Dr. Robert Anderson, Freida Gombocz, Mary Stevens, Grace Buchanan, and Allan Anderson.  Loved by many nieces and nephews.  Wes proudly served his country for 32 years in the Air Force from 1968 - 2000.  Postings included Uplands (Ottawa), Baden-Soellingen, Germany; Chilliwack, BC; Edmonton, AB, Lahr, Germany; NATO Geillenkirchen, Germany, Victoria, BC; retiring in Ottawa in 2000.  Sometimes referred to as the Mayor of Nicolet Way, he was famous for his garden and family pool BBQs.  He was renound for his Wes Burgers, trips to Costco and any and all garden centers in Ottawa.  Nothing made him happier than having everyone over for a swim and a burger.  A special thank you to the wonderful dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at the General Hospital, 6West Oncology.   A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Otttawa, 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
