1956 Graduate, Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing R.N. After a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease, Sarah passed away peacefully in long term care, October 2, 2016. She leaves behind her beloved children, David (Elaine Splett), Stephanie ( Jean Binet). Survived also by her greatly loved granddaughter, Emileigh Binet, siblings, Jim, Bill, Ann, Diane, and Debby, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Sarah Beth enjoyed the many years she spent nursing patients in labour. She also worked as office nurse for Dr. George T. Carson, and Dr. I Soloway. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn W. Mather, her parents, Syd and Yetive Trask, and siblings, Pat, David, Linda, and Mary Ellen. In her memory, call a friend and lend a listening ear, watch a good movie, read a good book, do a kindness every day. The family wishes to express a special thank you to caregivers Jenny and Margaret of Madonna LTC. At Sarah’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life, October 29th, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Heritage Funeral Complex 1250 Trim Rd. Ottawa. The family will receive condolences at 12:30 until the start of the ceremony. Following the ceremony, please join the family for refreshments and conversation. Sarah encourages everyone to please dress casual. In lieu of flowers, donations to her favourite charities, War Amps, Salvation Army, and the Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated.
