Nécrologie de John McWatt

JOHN ERNEST McWATT, born on November 19th, 1922 in Guyana SA, passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2016 at the Ottawa General Hospital. He was the Beloved Husband of the late Grace E. McWatt (nee Overton), Father of Joan Prashad (Shad) of Ottawa, and J. Bruce McWatt (Rhona) of Dunbar Scotland, Grandfather of Leah Nelson (Andrew) of Bozeman Montana, J. Darren Prashad and Karina Prashad of Ottawa, Gina Black (Jim) of Edinburgh Scotland, Natalie McWatt of London UK. Great Grandfather of Imogen and Sadie Black and Jacob Nelson. He was also the Beloved brother of Irma Belmonte, Ethne Carto, Thora Gordyk, Sheilah Stuart-Young, Thelma Beattie and Olga Cole, who all predeceased him. John was a proud member of the British Army South Caribbean Forces for 9.5 years retiring with the rank of Lieutenant, and served in WW2. He had a distinguished career as a Civil Servant for the Government of Guyana, retired in 1981 and moved to Canada to live with his daughter Joan Prashad and her family. He also retired after over 60 years as a Mason of Union Lodge of Guyana, and Ashlar Lodge # 564 of Ottawa with the rank Past District Grand Warden for the Grand Lodge of Guyana. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 1220 Old 10th Line Rd, Orleans K1E3W7, on May 14th, 2016 at 2PM.
